My friend was at the Jersey shore and told me about a woman in a boardwalk stall looking at her phone between customers. He described the scene as very Hopperesque due to the quiet isolation. I could not resist the idea of this so I did a painting in my sketchbook.

I love you’re take on it! Just watched the old (1980) movie Atlantic City – I believe they chose the same section of boardwalk I was on. The light was just the same 40 years ago, or as Burt Lancaster says, “You should have seen the Atlantic Ocean back then…”.
